Old foreman told me my finish was too shiny, took me 3 years to get what he meant
He said 'clients want furniture, not mirrors' and I finally stopped obsessing over gloss levels after a customer in Denver complained her kitchen looked like a disco ball, now I cut everything back with 0000 steel wool and wipe down with mineral spirits, anyone else ever have a boss who gave advice that took way too long to click?

Three years is nothing, mine took close to five before it clicked. The real trick after the steel wool is checking it under the actual light where it's going to live, because shop lights lie to you every time (ask me how I know). A disco ball kitchen is a hard lesson but at least you only had to hear about it once.
