Just hit 1,000 dovetails this afternoon, never expected to count that high
I was hand cutting a run of 14 drawers for a built-in in Nashville and my helper asked how many dovetails I'd ever cut, so I started tallying job estimates from the last 9 years, came out to 1,003 including this morning. That's a lot of sawdust and sore knuckles, especially considering I broke my first dovetail saw in 2016 on a cherry panel. The wild part is I've never had a single joint come apart, but I've definitely re-cut maybe 40 of them after getting sloppy with the chisel. Anyone else keep a running count of something random like that or am I just too obsessed with numbers?
