I used to think prefinished plywood was just lazy work

I always built my cabinets from raw birch plywood and finished them myself. Then last month I did a kitchen in Columbus for a client who insisted on prefinished maple plywood from the supplier. I figured it would look cheap but the finish was actually tougher than what I can spray in my shop. The edges take some extra work with iron-on veneer but the time I saved on sanding and sealing was almost a full day per cabinet. Has anyone else made the switch and dealt with getting good edge banding results?

Totally agree, prefinished stuff surprised me too when I finally tried it.

Nobody talks about how it saves your back from sanding.
