Finally got that router table fence dialed in after 6 months of fighting it
Last Thursday I cut a perfect set of dovetails on my first try with the new fence setup and it felt way better than it probably should have - anyone else spend way too long chasing square before it clicks?

Finally got that router table fence dialed in after 6 months of fighting it" - that's brutal man. Six months is a long time to be wrestling with a fence. I spent three months chasing a 0.5 degree error on my table saw one time, kept getting burn marks on everything. Drove me nuts until I realized the miter slot was off by a hair. Feels like a huge win when it finally clicks though, like the whole shop just breathes easier.

Hold up I gotta ask is six months of fighting a fence really that big a deal? I mean its a router table not brain surgery. Ive had a fence that was off by a hair for like two years now and it still cuts fine for what I need. Dovetails are nice and all but if it takes half a year to get them perfect maybe the setup isnt the problem. Seems like folks overthink this stuff way too much.
