Can we talk about that one perfect day I had last spring

I was finishing up a set of kitchen cabinets for a house over on Maple Street in Portland. Everything just clicked... the miters came out tight, the finish dried smooth, and I even got the drawer slides aligned on the first try. I wrapped up by 3 PM and the homeowner, a guy named Doug, actually said 'this is the best work I've seen.' Has anyone else had a day where nothing went wrong?

Wait, the drawer slides aligned on the first try?

My first thought was you must have gotten super lucky or measured wrong, but then I realized something nobody brings up. The drawer slides themselves can have slight manufacturing tolerances that make them look aligned when they aren't, especially the cheap ball bearing ones from Home Depot. I've had a set where one rail was off by 1.5mm from the factory and it still slid smooth because the plastic wheels took up the slack. You might check if the drawer actually sits level or if it rocks side to side when you push it all the way in. If it feels fine, then yeah you probably just rolled a natural 20 on that build.
