Showerthought: I used to call my ISP every time the office internet dropped, now I just check the coax myself
For about 3 years at our shop in Boise, any time the connection got flaky I would sit on hold with Comcast for 40 minutes just to have them tell me to reboot the modem. Now I keep a $30 Klein coax tester in the drawer and a spare modem, so last Tuesday when speeds tanked I found a bad splitter in under 10 minutes. Saves me at least one headache a month, though I still wonder if a business line would just stop the dropouts altogether. Anyone here run a dedicated fiber line for a 6 person office, and did it actually cut down your random outages?
