DAE spend 6 weeks trying to get static IPs from a small town ISP in Idaho
Moving my dad's insurance office from cable to fiber should've been a 3 day job. It took 6 weeks. Turns out the carrier in Coeur d'Alene had no idea how to hand off a /29 block to a router we owned, so every tech visit ended with a shrug and a ticket sent back to tier 2. By the end we had 4 wasted truck rolls and I'd burned 11 hours on hold just to get one guy who knew what a gateway subnet was. Budget was $260 a month and the whole thing taught me to always ask for the static IP config in writing before signing. Anyone got a provider in the Northwest that actually knows what they're doing with small business blocks?
