Trying to make a perfect key for my weekly spread took me all weekend

I wanted a simple key for my weekly tasks, just a few symbols for work, home, and fun. I started with a basic legend in the corner, but it looked messy. I tried drawing little icons, but my hands are not steady and they came out wonky. I saw a video on Instagram where someone used washi tape to make a clean key, so I bought some. That just made a sticky mess and the tape peeled up. I finally gave up and just wrote the words 'work', 'home', 'fun' in different colored pens. What should have been a 10 minute setup on Friday night took me until Sunday afternoon to finally accept. Does anyone have a truly simple way to make a key that doesn't turn into a whole art project?
