TIL I was making my weekly spreads way too hard
For over a year, I spent every Sunday night drawing out a full weekly calendar with fancy borders. My friend saw my journal last week and said, "You know you can just write the dates down the side of the page, right?" I tried it this week and saved 45 minutes. It works just as well for tracking tasks. Has anyone else ditched the complex layouts for something simpler?

Straight up stopped using a full box for each day and switched to just a running list down the left side. Saves me 20 minutes easy. Used to color code everything with markers and sticky tabs thinking it made me more organized. Turns out just writing the date and three tasks underneath does the same job without the headache. My weekly spread is basically a boring list now but I actually finish more stuff because I'm not wasting time on decoration.

Wait you were drawing fancy borders every single week? For a whole year? That's wild lol I would've given up after like two Sundays. I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler. What did the borders even look like, like flowers and stuff? That's some serious dedication I don't have.

Honestly, what gets me is the time cost over a year. Forty-five minutes a week is like, what, almost forty hours total? That's a full work week you spent just drawing lines. Makes you wonder what other simple tasks we're overcomplicating for no real payoff.
