TIL a $2 binder clip changed how I track weekly habits forever

I was always dropping my habit tracker after two weeks, kept forgetting to fill it in. Then I clipped a folded index card to the left side of my journal that covers the past few days, so I only see Monday through Wednesday at a time. Now I actually mark things off because I'm not overwhelmed by a whole month staring at me. Has anyone else built a little physical barrier like that to stop yourself from skipping?

I'm gonna be the one to say it... is this really that deep? You're talking about "not being overwhelmed by a whole month" like it's a life or death thing. It's a habit tracker, not a mortgage payment. If a piece of paper with a binder clip is what makes or breaks your ability to check off "brush teeth" or "drink water" then maybe the problem isn't the layout. I mean... good for you if it works and all, but calling it a "forever" change after two weeks feels a bit dramatic. Odds are you'll get bored of the clip in a month and find something else to blame.

Disagree with you there. Small wins matter, and this sounds like a solid tweak.
