Swapped my weekly spread for a rolling weekly and it finally clicked

Used to spend an hour every Sunday drawing out seven equal boxes for the week. Every time I had a slow day there were just empty squares staring at me. About 6 months ago I switched to a rolling weekly where I only list the days I actually have stuff going on. It freed up so much space for collections and random notes. Has anyone else found a format that works better than the standard weekly spread?

Does anyone else's bullet journal just end up being a list of nice pens I bought instead of actual plans?

Oh man, that empty box feeling is the worst... I had the same thing until I just started using a simple weekly habit tracker instead of planning every single day.

Yeah exactly, scaling back to just tracking the big things weekly made my bullet journal actually useful instead of a guilt trip. Daily planning just sets you up to feel bad about things you didn't do.
