My bullet journal tracker just hit 365 days straight and I'm kind of shocked
I started a simple habit tracker for daily water intake in my Leuchtturm1917, just a tiny dot each day, and I never missed a single one for a whole year. It's the first time I've ever stuck with anything that long, and it feels weirdly huge for such a small mark on a page. Do you think tracking streaks is more about the habit or just not wanting to break the chain?

Keep it simple with the streak... that little dot becomes more powerful than the actual habit over time. The chain becomes the real motivation, not the water.

Not wanting to break the chain" is the whole game for me. I once kept a streak going for a month just because I didn't want to see a blank box, even though the actual habit was totally gone by week two. That little dot has you in a chokehold.
