I used to think my weekly spread needed seven perfect boxes... then my kid drew a dinosaur on Tuesday.

Oh man, that's the best kind of Tuesday. My planner looked like a war zone for years. I started leaving a blank page just for the random kid art, it became my favorite part to look back on. Trying to keep it perfect is a lost cause, the messy stuff is what you'll actually remember.

Totally get that. My own notes are full of coffee stains and crossed out lists. The messy pages do feel more real when you flip back through them.

My buddy's whole budget tracker got hijacked by his toddler's crayon masterpiece... now it's just a purple blob with some numbers peeking through. He says it's a better record of that year than any spreadsheet.
