I used to draw every single box in pen and now I skip half of them and my bujo finally works
For about 2 years I ruled out every weekly spread by hand with a tiny ruler and a 0.38 pen, and I would redo a whole page if one line was crooked, which happened at least once a week. Now I just slap down the date and a few dashes in pencil and only ink the parts that matter, after my sister watched me rage-quite a spread last March and said it looked like a spreadsheet, not a planner. Turns out I never once went back to read the perfect headers, but I do flip back to the messy grocery lists and the note about my kid's dentist on the 14th. Anyone else find that letting the pages look ugly is the only way they actually get used?
The spreadsheet comment from your sister is brutal and also 100 percent fair. I spent an entire Sunday last month drawing little calendars and then never once opened that spread again. The ugly pages are the ones with actual life on them, go figure.
