Finally bit the bullet on a $35 fountain pen at Kinokuniya in Chicago
I mean I always thought cheap pens were fine for my bujo but this one actually makes me look forward to writing my dailies. Anyone else find a single tool that totally changed their journaling habit?

Funny how one Right tool can flip a whole habit on its head like that.

Right? It's wild how something as simple as a better tool can COMPLETELY change a routine. I had the same thing happen with a new kitchen gadget, now I actually cook breakfast instead of skipping it.

Yeah I used to be in the "a pen is a pen" camp. Thought spending more than five bucks was just wasting money. Then a friend gave me a nicer pen for my birthday last year and I didn't want to be rude so I started using it. Now my handwriting actually looks decent and I don't skip pages because the ink smears or dries out halfway through a sentence. Kinda annoyed at myself for being stubborn about it for so long.

Oh is your friend secretly a pen enthusiast trying to convert people? Haha because that's exactly how it went with me and notebooks. @the_mia mentioned kitchen gadgets and that's so true, but for me it was getting a decent notebook that didn't bleed through. I always bought the cheapest spiral ones and wondered why my notes looked like garbage. A friend gave me this simple hardcover notebook with good paper and suddenly I was journaling every night. It's wild how spending a tiny bit more on something you use daily just changes everything, makes you actually want to do the thing.
