Bought a $60 fountain pen set for my bullet journal and it leaked all over my daily spread

I saw this fancy set online with colored inks for my mood tracker. First time using it, the cap wasn't tight and blue ink exploded across three pages. Had to rip them out and start over. Anyone else have a pen disaster ruin a whole week of tracking?

Was the cap actually defective or just not clicked all the way?

Were you positive the cap clicked shut? Sometimes those cheaper pens need an extra push to fully seal.
