Vent: I started writing down every purchase for 30 days and found $212 I didn't know I was losing
Back in September I got annoyed after checking my bank app and seeing I had $60 left with 9 days until payday. So I started texting myself every single purchase, even a $1.50 soda, for a full month. About two weeks in I saw the pattern: $6 to $8 a day on coffee and snacks from the gas station near my work in Boise. That added up to $212 over 30 days, which is basically my car insurance payment. I switched to making coffee at home and packing a lunch, and now I want to know what small habit drained money for other people without them noticing.
