Vent: Forgot my lunch at home and saved $12 by not caving to fast food
Was at work in downtown Austin yesterday, realized I left my lunch bag on the counter. Normally I'd just walk to the food trucks and blow $12 on a burrito. But I checked my budget app and saw I'm trying to save $50 this week for a new tire. So I drank water and ate a packet of crackers from the break room. Felt dumb but also proud. Anyone else have a moment where you almost broke your budget but held the line?

Forgot my lunch at home" - man, that's the worst feeling right when noon hits. I've been there with the break room crackers, it feels kinda sad but then you check your bank account and it's a win. Those $12 snacks add up fast when you're trying to save for something real.

Actually spending on snacks is way better than eating sad crackers from the break room. You're probably missing out on a real meal that could brighten your whole afternoon over saving like six bucks. Sometimes treating yourself is worth more than pinching every penny.
