Swapped to a meal kit service instead of grocery shopping

I was dead set against meal kits for years. Thought they were a waste of money compared to buying ingredients myself. But I kept throwing out half my produce every week, probably $40 a month in spoiled food. Tried HelloFresh for two weeks to see, and my grocery bill dropped from $80 a week to $55 because I wasn't overbuying. Plus I stopped eating out three times a week to save the hassle. Anyone else find meal kits cheaper in the long run?

Think you're overcomplicating it @the_jade, just batch cook the kits on Sunday and freeze portions for lazy nights.
