My spreadsheet for tracking my partner's coffee habit took me 3 hours to fix after a formula broke.

Oh man, does that ever bring back a memory? My friend Dave once made a spreadsheet for his roommate's weird snack spending, like a full budget tracker. He had all these links to other sheets that pulled prices. One of the links broke, and it zeroed out like six months of data. He spent a whole evening trying to remember what he'd even done to set it up, muttering about named ranges. He said it felt like trying to fix a watch with oven mitts on.

That's the worst, when a link breaks and just wipes things clean. But a broken link to another sheet wouldn't zero out old data, it would usually just show an error. Was he maybe using a SUMIF or something that referenced a now-empty range? That could make it look like everything's gone when the formulas just can't find the numbers to add up.
