My grocery bill was $40 less this week just from checking the freezer first
I was about to do my usual big shop on Tuesday, but I took five minutes to really look at what I already had. I found a pack of chicken, some frozen veggies, and a half bag of rice I'd totally forgotten about, so I just bought fresh stuff to go with it. Has anyone else had a week where a simple check saved a bunch of cash?

Honestly, that just sounds like basic organization to me. Checking your own freezer shouldn't be some big money saving trick, it's just normal. If you're regularly forgetting what food you own, the real issue is probably your shopping habits.

Totally get that. I started keeping a list on the fridge door. Game changer for me, stopped buying doubles.

Alexj99's tip about a fridge list would've saved me from buying three bags of frozen peas last month... Found them all jammed behind a pizza box. Now I do a quick head count before I even grab a cart.
