My dad told me I was overwatering my lawn and cutting it too short for years

I switched to watering 1 inch per week and raising my mower deck to 3.5 inches, and now my yard in Phoenix actually stays green through July.

Switched to deep watering twice a week early in the morning instead of daily sprinkles. That alone made a huge difference in my St. Augustine grass here in Houston. Also stopped bagging the clippings and just let them lay on the lawn. Took about a month but the roots grew way deeper and the whole yard looked thicker.

Yeah @cora_perez nailed it with the deep watering thing. Stopping the daily sprinkles was the game changer for my lawn too.
