My car's AC quit in July. Paid $50 for a recharge kit instead of $300 at the shop. It's been cold for three weeks now.

Yeah, that cold juice works if you're just low on refrigerant. The problem is if there's a real leak, you're just putting a band-aid on it and it'll fail again. Gotta make sure you check for leaks first.

Nice! You beat the system. The shops want you to think you need a pro with a machine, but a can of cold juice from the auto store does the trick. My buddy did that two summers ago and his AC is still going strong. Makes you wonder what else they overcharge for, right?
