I was rounding every purchase up to the next dollar in my budget and it was hiding $60 a month from me
For about three years I tracked everything in a notebook and just eyeballed the numbers, so a $12.47 lunch became "13" and I never noticed the gap adding up. A coworker in Fresno showed me her spreadsheet with exact cents in October, and I found almost $60 a month I thought I had already spent. How do you all handle the small stuff, exact numbers or a fudge factor?
