I finally swapped my $6 daily coffee for a $40 french press and 6 weeks later the math shut me up
I used to hit the drive thru near my station in Boise every single morning, roughly $6 a cup, and I swore the convenience was worth it. Then I sat down and added it up: about $180 a month, which is close to my car payment. Six weeks ago I bought a $40 french press and a $12 grinder, and I'm now spending maybe $15 a month on beans. The coffee tastes better too, but honestly the number at the end of the month is what convinced me. Has anyone else made a swap like this where the cheap version actually beat the thing you were loyal to?
