Heard a coworker mention her 'no spend November' and it totally flipped my thinking on budget challenges

I always thought those challenge months were just for people who already had their stuff together. You know, the type who meal prep and never impulse buy. But Barb from accounting said she did it to break a habit of ordering lunch out every single day. Said she saved $230 in one month just from packing leftovers. I did December kinda loosely and managed $180 extra toward my car payment. I don't think I can do a whole month again but maybe I'll try a week at a time. Has anyone else tried a shorter challenge like a week or even just weekends and seen it stick?

Oh man, that's exactly how I felt! I did a "no takeout week" last month and wound up saving enough to grab a new pair of boots I'd been eyeing for months.

Wait, you saved "enough for boots" just by skipping takeout for ONE WEEK?
