Appreciation post: My electric bill win from tracking habits
I saw my electric costs were way too high last quarter. I started turning off everything not in use and adjusting the thermostat. Now my bill is down by $40 a month. That cash adds up fast. It's a small win that makes budgeting easier.

Small tweaks like that really compound over time, changing everything.

Man, you are so right about that... I finally got serious about pulling plugs on stuff I wasn't using and my last bill was noticeably lower. It's crazy how all those little drains just keep adding up silently. My big win was realizing the old DVD player and game console were just sitting there glowing all day. Makes you wonder what else is sipping power without you knowing, like the little light inside the fridge.

Did you check for phantom loads from stuff on standby? I read an article about how standby power can add up to 10% to a bill. That extra check might be worth it too.
