Vent: Spent 3 hours trying to find a hostel that actually had the kitchen open
So I got into Barcelona last Tuesday night around 10 PM and walked to this highly rated hostel I booked. Got there and the front desk lady tells me the kitchen is closed for renovations even though the website said it was open. I spent the next 3 hours on my phone searching for another place that had a working kitchen before midnight. Has anyone else had a booking site lie about amenities like that?

Tuesday at 10 PM is pretty late for check in at most hostels anyway. Next time call ahead before you walk there to double check the kitchen.

Barcelona hostels have been pretty inconsistent with amenities since the pandemic. I stayed at three different ones there last year and two of them had kitchen hours that didn't match what was listed online. Did you check if the booking site had recent reviews mentioning the kitchen situation before you booked?
