TIL that paying with my debit card overseas cost me $47 in hidden fees on a $300 hostel bill in Lisbon
I always thought my bank was one of the good ones, but the 3% foreign transaction fee plus a garbage exchange rate added up fast. Anyone else switch to a no fee card for travel, and did it actually save you real money?
