He told me he saved over $400 last year just by booking directly and paying cash, so I ran my own numbers and realized those airline miles I was chasing only netted me $60 in actual value after fees and minimum spends - has anyone else looked at what their points actually cost them?

Am I the only one who's racked up like 47,000 points on a credit card just to find out they're worth a free coffee at a gas station? I swear, I treat my rewards like a retirement plan and they pay out like a loose slot machine. Opened a card for a "bonus" only to get hit with an annual fee that wiped out any profit. Now I'm just hoarding points like a dragon with fake gold.
