Rant: I lost $80 on a 'skip the line' ticket for a museum in Rome that had no line at all.

I bought it online a month ahead because I was worried about crowds, but when I got there on a Tuesday morning, the regular queue was only about five minutes long, so what are some other tourist traps you've paid extra for that turned out to be a total waste?

That skip the line stuff is almost never worth it.

Last summer in Florence my skip the line pass saved me a sweaty 90 minute wait in 95 degree sun.

Paid for a fancy audio guide that just repeated the info on the signs.
