Pro tip: I saved $300 on a week in Lisbon just by changing when I booked

I planned a trip to Portugal for this September. I checked flights in April and they were around $850 from New York. I waited a week to book and they jumped to $950. I got worried and started tracking prices every day. I noticed they dropped to $720 on a Tuesday morning about 8 weeks out. I grabbed it right then. Has anyone else found a specific day or time that works best for flight deals?

Honestly used to believe the whole "book on a Tuesday" thing was a total myth, like airline voodoo. But tracking my own trip to Dublin last year made me a believer. Those prices really do bounce around like crazy in that six to eight week window before the flight. Now I just set a price alert and check it with my morning coffee, seems like early weekday mornings are when the good drops happen.

My trip to Rome last fall was the same, I tracked it for months and the Tuesday thing was real.

So is this why my Tuesday mornings are spent chasing deals instead of, you know, working, @bettyl37?
