My airbnb in Phoenix last month had a secret room behind a bookshelf
I booked this place for $45 a night near the airport, and found a tiny door behind a fake bookshelf in the living room... turned out it was just a storage closet with old board games and a broken lamp. But for a second I thought I stumbled into some secret lair. Has anyone else found weird hidden spots in cheap rentals?

Happens more than you'd think. Cheap places always have weird little secrets hiding around.

The old motel I stayed at outside Tucson had a fake rock that was actually a safe embedded in the bathroom wall. Found it when I dropped my razor behind the sink and my hand brushed against something that clearly wasn't stone. Never did figure out what was in it, but it made the whole trip feel a little off.
