Just figured out a better way to handle airport food costs

I always used to buy a meal at the airport after security, thinking it was my only choice. Last trip, I packed a simple sandwich and an apple from home instead. The airport burger and fries in Denver cost me $24, but my homemade lunch was maybe $3 total. I saved over $20 and didn't have to wait in line. Has anyone else tried packing food and found it works for longer layovers too?

Honestly, my wallet's still mad at me for all those airport pretzels.

My last layover in Atlanta taught me the same lesson. I spent thirty bucks on a sad salad and a bottle of water. Bringing my own snacks is a total game changer for saving money and time.
