I just found out you can book a train ticket in Italy for 9 euros if you buy it months ahead

I was looking at a trip to Rome for next fall and saw this deal on the Trenitalia site. It's called the 'Super Economy' fare and it's for certain routes if you book way in advance, like 120 days out. I checked the price for a ticket from Rome to Florence and it was actually 9 euros, which is way less than I ever thought possible. The normal price is over 40 euros, so that's a huge saving just for planning early. Has anyone else snagged one of these deals and had it work out okay?

Thought that was too good to be true until I tried it last year. Booked a cheap ticket from Milan to Venice and had no issues at all. It really does pay to plan ahead sometimes.

Cheap tickets are great until you miss the train and pay triple for the next one.

Wait, is missing the train really that bad? Ngl, I feel like if you're gonna cheap out on a ticket, you gotta commit to the whole 'be at the station 45 minutes early and watch every single train come and go' vibe. Honestly, paying triple for the next one sounds like a personal problem - like, who shows up late for a cheap ticket and expects sympathy? Tbh, the universe is just giving you a tax on poor time management at that point. Plus, if you miss it, just pretend you're on a budget adventure and nap on a bench for two hours.

Wait, did you hear about my buddy who got stuck two hours late and it cost him?
