Am I the only one who has to fight with family over packing light for budget flights?

I mean, we book these cheap flights with strict baggage rules. But my sister packs like we're going for a month, even on a weekend trip. Last time, she had to pay 100 bucks extra at the gate. Idk, maybe it's just me, but that money could've covered our meals. It's so annoying when I've spent hours finding the best deals. We end up arguing instead of enjoying the trip. I wish they'd just listen and pack smarter.
