Tried making my own peanut butter to save money and it went wrong fast

I figured I'd save like $3 a jar by grinding my own peanuts in a blender. After 15 minutes of churning and smoke coming out of my $30 blender from Target, I ended up with dry crumbles that tasted like sawdust. Learned that you need a food processor with some oil to get it smooth, or just stick to the store brand lol. Anyone else tried a DIY pantry staple and had it backfire?

My Target blender and I have a very complicated relationship now. Tried making almond flour once and it just turned into some kind of nut dust that made everything taste sad.

Hmm, @mark_nguyen95, I’ve had great luck with mine for almond flour actually.
