Stop buying those $5 bags of pre-chopped onions at Walmart

I used to grab those pre-chopped onion bags every week because I thought it saved time. Then I noticed I was spending around $20 a month just on chopped onions. Now I spend 10 minutes Sunday night chopping a whole $1.49 bag of onions and freeze them in portions. Has anyone else switched to buying whole produce and seen a big difference in their grocery bill?

Read an article that said pre-cut stuff goes bad faster too because of how they cut it. Tbh I started doing the same with bell peppers and save like 15 bucks a month easy.

Ngl I saw something similar about how the exposed flesh on pre-cut stuff loses moisture way faster. It makes sense when you think about it, more surface area means more oxygen hitting it. Definitely worth the extra few minutes to chop at home.
