Pro tip: oven roasting stale bread saves way more than buying croutons

Last week I had a whole loaf of bread go stale on me... I was about to toss it when my neighbor Marta said I could just cube it up and roast it. So I tossed the cubes with some oil and garlic powder, spread them on a baking sheet, and put them in a 375 degree oven for about 12 minutes. They came out super crunchy and I used them on salads and soup all week... probably saved myself like 4 or 5 bucks not buying bagged croutons. Plus they tasted way better than store bought. Has anyone else tried reviving stale bread this way or got other tricks for using up old loaves?

Oh man, I do this all the time now! I'll even toss on some dried herbs from my spice rack and they come out way better than the store stuff.
