Overheard a guy at the grocery store say he spent $40 on one steak

Honestly, I was in line at the Safeway on 5th and he was telling his buddy about this fancy dinner. Tbh, it just made me think about how I can make a whole pot of chili for my family for less than that one piece of meat. I grabbed a can of beans and some ground turkey instead and felt way better. Ngl, has anyone else had a moment like that where you just see the value in the simple stuff?

Wait, forty dollars for just one steak? That's like half my grocery bill for the week. I can't even picture what a steak that expensive looks like, it must be huge or covered in gold or something. Honestly, spending that much on a single meal feels like a totally different world. It just seems like a waste when that money could do so much more. Stuff like that really makes you see how different people's priorities are.

Man, that's everywhere lately. I see people chasing fancy experiences while the best parts of my week are cheap and simple, like a good home cooked meal. It really makes you question what we're all told is supposed to make us happy.

Totally feel that about the simple stuff, @anderson.sandra. My buddy just dropped a ton on a fancy dinner and said he felt kinda empty after, like he just bought the story. Meanwhile he's been texting me pics of his dog being goofy all week for free, which is way better. Makes you wonder where the real stuff actually is.
