My big swap from store-bought broth to homemade saved me $12 a week
I used to buy those cardboard boxes of chicken broth for every soup and stew, but about 8 months ago I started saving veggie scraps and chicken bones in a bag in the freezer. Now I just toss them in the slow cooker with water overnight and strain it - cheap and way more flavor. Has anyone else tried making their own stock?

Dude same here. I also freeze celery tops and onion skins.

Yo honestly same. I used to just toss all that stuff but now my freezer bag is full of veggie scraps. Makes stock way better and saves money too. Plus it's nice knowing nothing gets wasted.

Used to think it wasn't worth the hassle, but @robinwalker you're right, those freezer bags changed everything.
