I was checking my grocery receipts and saw I spent $47 on cheese last month. That's more than I spent on chicken.
I went through my bank app to see where my money was going. I buy a lot of cheddar and mozzarella for pasta and sandwiches, but I had no idea it added up that fast. I found a local deli that sells blocks for way less than the pre-shredded bags at the big store. Anyone have other tips for cutting the cost on dairy without cutting it out?

Honestly that's not even that wild for cheese. It's basically a protein. Wait till you see what people spend on coffee.

More than chicken" is a real wake up call. At least you're not spending it on avocado toast.

Get a block of cheddar and shred it yourself, you'll save a ton compared to that pre-shredded stuff with sawdust in it. I started buying a big block from Costco for like seven bucks and it lasts me two weeks of daily sandwiches and tacos. Add a bag of frozen chicken thighs to your rotation, they're way cheaper than breasts and taste better. A little meal prep on Sunday saves you from grabbing fast food when you're busy. That's the real budget killer, not the $4 cheese or the tiny latte.
