I did a side by side of canned beans vs dried beans and the difference surprised me

I always bought canned black beans for my burrito bowls cause they were easier. But last month I picked up a 2lb bag of dried beans for $2.50 at WinCo. I cooked a batch and compared them to the canned ones I usually get for $1.20 a can. The dried beans had way better texture and flavor, plus that one bag made the same amount as about 5 cans. Has anyone else made the switch and found a good method for cooking them fast?

Oh sure, a whole batch of dried beans is totally worth it if you have 3 hours to babysit a pot... and then forget they exist until the water boils over. I did the same thing with pinto beans once and ended up with a starchy mess that could've doubled as wall paste. The canned ones are fine if you're too tired to plan ahead, but that bag of dried beans will definitely outlast your motivation to cook them.

Wow, I used to think dried beans were always better but you totally changed my mind.
