Hot take: My $15 thrift store cast iron skillet cooks better than my neighbor's $200 nonstick pan ever did

After 3 months of daily use and proper seasoning, the eggs slide off like butter while her fancy pan started sticking within 6 weeks, so why do people keep buying the expensive stuff that wears out? Anyone else ditch the overpriced cookware for the cheap stuff that lasts forever?

@lilyfisher but have you tried seasoning it right? Technique matters more than price.
