Bought a whole chicken instead of parts, math surprised me
Stood in the grocery aisle last Tuesday staring at a $6.89 whole chicken versus $4.29 for just two breasts. Figured I'd try breaking it down myself with a YouTube video and a dull knife. Messed up the first cut but got two breasts, two thighs, wings, and a carcass for stock. That stock made three quarts of soup base for the week, so the total cost per meal came out to about $1.10. Got any preferred way to break down a bird or do you stick with parts too?
