Used to spend 50 bucks on EVA foam at craft stores, now I hit up flooring shops for free samples

I was dropping like $40-50 a sheet at Michaels for years. Then last summer I walked into a Floor & Decor near me and asked if they had any discarded foam underlayment. Guy handed me a whole roll for free. Cut and shaped just as good for my Mandalorian armor. Anyone else found random free sources for cosplay materials?

Guy handed me a whole roll for free" - I snagged carpet tubes from a dumpster once, worked great for a lightsaber hilt.

Man @lucas63 you're close but carpet tubes are usually cardboard, not great for any kind of detail work. Foam underlayment is way better cause you can heat form it and it holds shape. Free is free though, can't knock the hustle lol.
