So that $12 foam floor mat tip actually worked for armor

Last month someone in this group told me to try those interlocking foam floor mats from Harbor Freight instead of the expensive craft foam for my cosplay armor. I figured for 12 bucks it couldn't hurt to test on a shoulder piece. Turns out it heat forms just as good as the name brand stuff and I got way more coverage for the price. Has anyone else tried using these for bigger props like chest plates or helmets? I'm curious how thick it holds up over time.

Yo same! I grabbed a set of those from Harbor Freight on a whim and now my garage looks like a demented preschool exploded. 😂 I used it for a full chest plate and honestly it held up better than my actual life choices. The trick I found is to layer a few sheets together if you want it thicker for helmets - just heat them up and squish em while theyre warm. Mine's been sitting in my trunk for like 6 months and still looks decent, no warping or anything.
