Rant: I hit 50 bucks for a full cosplay and people keep saying it's impossible
I built a full Link costume from Breath of the Wild for a con last month, and my final cost was exactly $50. I used a green hoodie I already had, cut up some old blue jeans for the tunic parts, and made the belt from a thrift store purse strap. Everyone online says you need at least $200 for a decent cosplay, but I proved them wrong with stuff from my closet and a craft store foam sheet. Has anyone else pulled off a full look for under $60?

Wait, you made the whole tunic from old jeans? How did you even get the pieces to look right without it just being denim scraps? That's the part that blows my mind... I tried that once and it just looked like a weird patchwork quilt.

Right? I totally get that patchwork quilt look, it's so easy to mess up. I tried making a bag from old corduroy pants and it just came out lumpy and weird. The trick I found is you gotta cut bigger pieces from similar spots, like using whole back pockets or full thigh sections. Otherwise it just looks like a craft project gone wrong lol.
