My cardboard knight helmet melted in the Wendy's parking lot and I still wore it
I spent about $9 on a foam and cardboard helmet for a con in Columbus last spring, and I was pretty proud of it. Walking from the car to the Wendy's on High St, the glue gave out in the heat and the visor flopped down over my face. I couldn't see a thing, so I stood there holding it up with one hand and eating fries with the other while my friend laughed so hard she cried. Ended up duct taping the visor to my head in the bathroom, and honestly it held the rest of the day. What's your go-to quick fix when a cheap build starts falling apart in public?
Duct tape has saved more cosplay than hot glue ever will, I keep a roll in my glove box now. The real pattern is that cheap builds always fail at the worst possible time, so planning for a public breakdown is half the battle.
