I made my whole Sailor Mars cosplay for $47 and I am never going back to buying pieces online
Two months ago I challenged myself to build a full costume for under $50 to prove that budget cosplay does not have to look cheap. I used a $12 red bedsheet from Goodwill for the skirt, $8 worth of thrifted purple ribbon, and a $6 pack of craft foam from Dollar Tree for the shoulder pads and tiara. My total came to $47 after I found the perfect white gloves at a church rummage sale in Albany for two bucks. Hot take: people who drop $300 on a cosplay kit are paying for convenience, not quality, and most of them look worse than my hand painted foam. What is the absolute cheapest build you have ever finished, and did anyone actually notice it was DIY?
